Owls, Holcomb, Claytor, Lightwriting…and Thanks!!

October 25th, 2009  |  Published in Blog

What an amazing night of music, art, and audience participation! The light writing, led by a mysterious and strangely hypnotic owl from planet 10, was a big hit and we will post pictures soon. Michael Claytor had a warm, personable presence, with witty lyrics and a slyly laconic delivery and Drew and Ellie Holcomb delighted the audience with their harmony of voice and spirit.

Special thanks to Volta Coffee and Chocolate and the Gelato Company, two local businesses who seek to be not just vendors but an integral part of the Gainesville community. We thank them for their generosity and friendship.

Thanks also to the many volunteers who helped make this show happen, from manning (or womaning) the door, to helping with iced coffee and gelato, to assembling owl masks, to helping clean up. We can’t do what we do without your help.

Thanks to the Mission, who let us use their space and transform it into a big, comfortable living room…really it was the biggest intimate setting I’ve been in.

Thanks to Elisabeth Chinchilla, Roberto Evans, and Evan McIntyre, who graced us with their beautiful and evocative art.

Lastly, thanks to all of you who came to hear great music and paint with light. hopefully you enjoyed the experience at least as much as we enjoyed putting it on.

Good Night!
