Society Promotions will sponsor two artists to be able to attend the JumpsART II: Going Solo Workshop at the Harn Museum of Art. If you would like to be considered for one of the two sponsorships, please submit a sample of your art, an artist’s statement, and one or two paragraphs on what you hope to gain from attending this worshop (200 to 300 words, please) to josh@societypromotions.org no later than Monday. September 28.
About The Workshop
The JumpsART Workshop will be held on October 10, 2009. It is being supported by the UF Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the UF School for Art and Art History, the UF School of Theater and Dance, the UF School of Music, the Harn Museum and Alta Printing.
There will be talks in the morning on how to start and grow a business out of your art. These talks will be led by Terri Lonier, graduate of the UF College of Fine Arts and President, Working Solo, Inc (www.workingsolo.com). Terri guides individuals who want to start and grow a solo business. A pioneer in the solo entrepreneurial movement, she is the author of hundreds of articles, three audio programs, and five books. The afternoon will feature a panel discussion hosted by successful local artists representing the visual and performing arts, an interactive roundtable activity involving all participants, and concluding with a wrap-up discussion. Included in the sponsorship is morning coffee, lunch and a copy of Terri’s book “The Frugal Entrepreneur.”
